The Foothills Lions Spray Park is a free public facility in the Turner Valley area. The Town describes it as being beside the pool and municipal campground and specifically suggests bringing a picnic. Hours are seasonal and subject to change, so check the official spray-park listing on the day of the trip.
Pack dry clothing separately and plan the meal away from wet gear. Families may prefer the spray park before eating, followed by a quieter picnic and short walk.
Consider a booked heritage visit
The Turner Valley Gas Plant is a provincial historic site in Diamond Valley, about 60 kilometres southwest of Calgary. Visits and combined experiences can require advance booking. Use the site's current visit information rather than assuming walk-in access.
